Kobayashi BK Kim Jane Eunjin Seo Yong Jin Park Sekiguchi Scott Macdonald Keiko Date --- Minutes: --- + Program Issues (Hirabaru) - the program schedule and sessions are basically fixed - some issues need to be solved - plenary speaker is not fixed - invited speakers - 4 accepted - funds available for additional invited speakers - accommodation support request was made from Malaysia - scheduling Jun Murai's lecture - arriving Jan. 22 22:00/leaving Jan. 24 AM - program summary - EDU fine - Network needs to list speakers (Shimokawa) - APAN retreat agenda is necessary - tutorial abstracts required - VoIP session only one speaker - QoS session has only one speaker - IPv6 router/Multicast sessions have only two speakers - check with chair - currently very few speakers have submitted presentation materials - PUSH - some abstract submissions have not been made - Plenary Recommendation (Goto) - Professor Araki - Kyushu Univ. - well known in Asia - appropriate for APAN - Prof. Araki is available on Jan. 22 (Hirabaru) * this recommendation was accepted by PC and LA - plenary session chair/reception/banquet chair and banquet speech selections need to be made - not really a PC issue but time is limited/coordination with PLAGMA is required etc. so proposal is to leave this selection to OC/PC/LA Chairs - Jun Murai's schedule - relates to EDU group (Tan Hock Soon) - needs to be scheduled on 23rd - don't want to overlap EDU joint session and WG meeting - lecture requires 2 hours/only small rooms available/Room F - 24 people - is very early morning possible 23rd 7:00-9:00?? - will explain situation to Jun Murai to look for solutions - small room overlapping other non-EDU sessions - Invited Speakers - currently only 4 speakers approved and accepted - original expectation was 10 invited speakers - budget is still available - need recommendations - may be possible to nominate someone who is planning to participate already and cover their expenses - Dr. Easit, Malaysia - invited speaker - this nomination and session needs to be clarified (BK) - Bangladesh/Sri Lanka? Yes. (Goto) - how will press registration be handled ? (Kobayashi) - press will be provided with badges allowing access to this release (Okamura) - registration - need to clarify in general who needs to register (Hirabaru) - press/sponsors (KEPCO/Cisco)/local government ? - sponsors should be accepted without reg. fee (Kobayashi) - press (less than 10 people) need to present ID/press badge at registration desk (Kobayashi) - would like to have LA handle this issue (Goto) - LA (Prof. Okamura)/Kobayashi) should make decisions case by case on site - Cisco Systems sponsorship - sponsorship needs to be made clear officially (Hirabaru) - Cisco's case is the same as KEPCO (Kobayashi) - we welcome the sponsorship of Cisco (Goto) - Cisco will be mentioned in the sposorship section of the APAN website (Hirabaru/Goto) - Cisco Japan?/ Cisco Systems? - unsure (Kobayashi) - remote speakers (Jie An) - who will be contact point for remote speakers? - Kobayashi san is interface between PC/speakers and LA + next teleconference - next meeting will be offline or onsite in Fukuoka
